Taking place in the epicentrum of Banda Aceh City, The Bank Aceh Syariah Headquarter is designed as a landmark and new icon to the city. It has 2 main elements in representing the building to the corporate foundation, a podium as a connectivity to people and another element is the tower “as a compass” to its vision. The tower is facing into 2 directions; the higher floor to Mecca as a symbol of Syariah foundation & lower level to the main square of Banda Aceh City. The facade system is using a concept of densifying fins with one side using 1.8% repetition and 6% to prevent direct sunlight to the tower. In balancing ultra-modern tower design, the podium has a contrast element that is more horizontal and human-scale to pedestrians and visitors, with a traditional element in the landscape as well.
